Here’s how to nominate your company for Jacksonville Top Workplaces

Workplaces in Jacksonville have changed a lot since the pandemic started, along with the rest of the world.

It’s been more than two years since the onset of the pandemic coronavirus, and thousands of people are still telecommuting to work from a desk in their homes or a laptop at the kitchen table. This is as Florida’s jobless rate held steady at 3 percent in May. Jacksonville’s jobless rate remained at 2.3 percent in May, a drop of 1.7 percentage points from 2021’s unemployment numbers in the area.

Altering work and home life routines have not been easy.

Right now, just shy of two-thirds of adults say they live in a household where someone reported to an actual work site during the prior week, according to census surveys. Meanwhile, Florida employers have learned to navigate all sorts of challenges in order to stay afloat. Some have managed to excel, and rise above the rest, especially in ways they’ve adapted to keep their workers feeling connected, heard, and valued.

The Florida Times-Union is seeking nominations for its first year of participating in the Jacksonville Top Workplaces awards program.

Jacksonville Top Workplaces 2022: Here’s how to nominate your company

How is your employer doing? If you feel good about it, nominate the business at or by phone at 904-309-9918.

Top Workplaces gives organizations an opportunity to receive free, unfiltered feedback from their employees. Organizations can see how they stack up internally, as well as in comparison to companies of similar size.

Any Metro Jacksonville workplace with 35 or more employees can participate, whether private, public, nonprofit, or a government agency.

The nomination deadline is August 12. Nominees will be evaluated by their workers with a short 24-question survey, conducted by Philadelphia-based Energage, a culture technology firm that specializes in employee engagement and workplace improvement research.

Companies will be surveyed from July through October. Results will be published in February 2023.

Energage (the research partner for the project) surveys Top Workplaces for media outlets in 61 markets – including The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, and the Tampa Bay Times – and reached more than 2 million workers in about 8,000 companies and organizations last year.
