Indielab has revealed the 20 organizations which will be supported through its inaugural TV, and Arts & Culture Export Lab program in West Yorkshire.
The initiatives are funded by the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership to support and drive international growth within the region’s key creative sectors.
Those chosen for the TV Export Lab include Air TV, Art of Truth, Attaboy TV, Atypical, Button Down, Candour Productions, Curley Vision, Fettle Animation, Pageful Productions, Rainbow Trout, The City Talking, and True North.
“After gaining valuable insight and knowledge from the Indielab TV Accelerator program it was a natural progression to apply for the TV Export Lab program,” said Christian Hills, True North Creative Director [pictured].
“We are now very excited to dovetail the learnings across the programs to continue to boost True North’s potential.”
The 8 organizations selected from the Arts & Culture sector are Dark Horse, Jazz North, Live Cinema, Northern Broadside Theatre, Opera North, Phoenix Dance Theatre, South Asian Arts and Mind the Gap.
“This is yet another fantastic example of the creative industries getting the support they need to help them thrive and I am pleased that West Yorkshire is able to extend its successful relationship with Indielab to deliver the Export Labs program,” added Tracy Brabin, Mayor of West Yorkshire.
“The ability to reach a wider audience will enable growth and create more jobs. If we harness this potential now, we will reap the rewards in the months and years to come.”
Over the next 3 months, both programs will deliver targeted modules through coached sessions and 1-2-1’s with industry experts.
“This is an exciting time for the creative industries in West Yorkshire; with the continued commitment to invest in the nations and regions of the UK we aim to support West Yorks’ creative industries to the next level through the delivery of these programs,” explained Victoria Powell, Indielab’s founder and Program Director.
“Working with our partners from across the TV and Arts & Culture sectors, we have designed a targeted Export program that will provide participants with the knowledge, skills and expertise needed to successfully position, monetise and manage their content in the global marketplace.”
